Biscuits and Gravy Recipe: the Perfect Holiday Breakfast

Try something new with this traditional southern delicacy that will sure to become part of your family’s holiday traditions for years to come!

Biscuits and Gravy Recipe

Country Sausage Gravy

  • 1 Bull Pork Sausage 
  • 1 can (10.75oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ¼ teaspoon of seasoned salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of peeper
  • 1 cup sour cream

Use a heavy skillet to brown and crumble sausage over medium heat till fully cooked and browned. Drain and set aside. And the same skillet combined soup milk and seasonings. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Add sausage and sour cream and simmer heat through but do not boil. Serve over warm biscuits. 

 

Grandma’s Drop Biscuits

  • 2 cups of flour-sifted
  • 4 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 5 tablespoons of Crisco
  • 1 cup of milk

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cut in shortening to consistency or course meal. Add milk and mix. Drop a spoonful onto a baking sheet. Bake at 425º for 11 minutes.
