Unbroken Review
As an overall movie, Unbroken did a great job of reenacting the life of Louis Zamperini and closely following the storyline of the novel. Although at times in the movie, there were a few scenes that differed from what happened in the book, the movie was action packed and full of vibrant characters. Something that bothered me about the movie is how over dramatized and unrealistic some of the scenes were. I knew from the book that the Prisoner of War camps were very violent, but I felt that after the punching scene, Zamperini would have died. Another aspect that I believe would have made the movie better, is shortened time, due to the fact that the movie was almost three hours long. There were specific scenes in the movie that could have been reduced in time or completely taken out. I thought that the movie was definitely worth seeing and I would highly recommend, especially to those who have read the book.
