Eden Prairie Idol
Eden Prairie has its own American Idol!
Mark Andrew Pudas is the son of EPHS substitute teacher, Ms. Nancy Pudas. Mark was also on “The Voice” in 2013 before he was defeated in the battle rounds. With his guitar by his side, Mark auditioned for “Idol” with the song “Soulshine” by the Allman Brothers. Keith Urban wanted to hear him do more with his voice, so he put his guitar aside for an a capella rendition of “I Wanna Be Like You” from “The Jungle Book.” His folksy-soul voice was a hit with the judges who clapped, danced and snapped along and unanimously passed him onto Hollywood.
Mark has an enormous amount of talent, and he has the drive to chase his dreams. But he’s reached the age of 29, which is the age limit. This is his last chance, and now that he’s in the top 24, the competition will get tougher.
You can watch his audition here and learn more about him here and here. He sings on Wednesday, February 25th at 7 p.m. central time. Voting opens this week, so whip out the phones and text to vote and help this Eagle soar!
