The first pep-fest
By Addie Marzinske
Last Friday, Eagle nation met in the main gym to kick off homecoming 2016 with the first pep-fest. There were many great performances along with exciting news about this year’s homecoming events.
The teachers reigned in purple as they performed, “Let’s Go Crazy,” by Minnesota’s own late, Prince. The crowd was pumped up while our own English teacher Ms. O’Mera brought out her best Prince interpretation, matched with Principal Mr. McCartan’s wild guitar solo.
Following the teachers came Eden Prairie’s performance team, performing their halftime dance for this year. After the performance, DECA began its annual cookie eating contest. Two students were nominated to represent each of their classes. After two minutes of eating, the winners were announced. Seniors Dominique Prince Points and Vaughn Deinhart were named winners after finishing 7 cookies.
On Sept 31st, actual homecoming events will begin. The football game is scheduled on Sept 31st at 7 p.m. at the Aerie stadium. Following the game, an informal dance will begin at 9 p.m in the EPHS activity center. Admission will cost $5 at the door.
On Oct 1st, a semi-informal homecoming dance will be hosted in the activity center. The dance goes from 8-11 p.m. Tickets will be sold in the south commons on Sept 31st during lunch. Tickets cost is $7 in the south commons or $10 at the door.
