The Human Rights and Diversity Commission (HRDC) is a part of the Eden Prairie City Council, involved in social issues, diversity efforts, and civil and human rights.
As a commission, they act as an advisory capacity to the Eden Prairie City Council to ensure the needs of marginalized communities are being heard and addressed in the community. The commission plans numerous events, con- tests, and awards all dedicated to celebrating diversity, supporting marginalized communities, and creating safe spaces for different cultures.
This year, HRDC is planning numerous ways for the community to get involved.
The Iftar, hosted on March 26th for muslim families, Human Rights Awards, the Words in Action contest, and their participation at People Fest, an event celebrating our communities culture, are all things HRDC does, and are ways for students to celebrate culture and the communities diversity.
