Minnesota Timberwolves’ forward Shabazz Muhammad has requested that the organization either trades or releases him before Thursday’s trade deadline per league sources.

Muhammad has only featured in 31 of the Timberwolves’ 56 contests. Averaging only 9.6 minutes per game, Muhammad is also averaging career lows in points (3.7), field goal percentage (38.5%) and three-point percentage (21.1%).

Muhammad turned down more lucrative offers in last summer’s free agency to remain with the Timberwolves, signing a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum salary.

Minnesota were also trying to trade Muhammad at last year’s deadline, with the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards named as teams reportedly interested in acquiring him at the time.
