Did You Know that you can get paid in scholarship money for getting good grades?

It’s true! RaiseMe is an online startup that helps high school students raise money for college by giving financial awards for commonplace activities, such as club involvement, volunteer hours and getting good grades! The San Francisco organization is funded by the colleges using its platform to offer students “micro scholarships”, which are the sums of money given per task completed, such as taking an AP class or being in a leadership role in a sport or club.

The aim is to advocate for students (specifically low-income students and students of color) who are striving for higher education but are disadvantaged by limited opportunities or obligations outside of school. All kids should have access to a higher education and be in the spotlight for their hard work and contributions within their schools, families and communities regardless of social or financial situation, and RaiseMe is trying to promote an awareness of this issue. Starting during freshman year of high school, students are eligible to start earning money, so sign up and spread the word!
