Sally Pearson

Q:What kind of activities are you involved in?

A:I’m involved in the speech team, theater, varsity tennis, choir, and am on the leadership board of Middle Eastern Interactions.

Q:

How do you balance all these activities?

A:

Well I think extracurriculars really prepare me for the real world where there are no excuses and I find that I actually end up focusing more when I get home later because I know that I have to get work done. I definitely do have to sacrifice some time with my friends for schoolwork, but I also get to make new friends and spend time with them through all these activities I do.

Q:

What part of high school have you enjoyed the most?

A:

I’ve really enjoyed the independence in getting to decide what I want to be involved in and finding out where I want to put my time into after high school.

Q:

If you could tell your freshman self one thing what would it be?

A:

I would tell myself that quitting is not necessarily a sign of failure–sometimes it’s necessary to make difficult choices between different activities and commitments in order to preserve a healthy lifestyle.
